The IBM 8362 Network Station Series 1000 builds on the strengths of previous models, boosts Java** applet and application performance, and supports the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 1.1.4. You also benefit from robust Internet access and corporate application access via 3270, 5250, X-Station, or Windows. Boot the Series 1000 from a variety of IBM servers -- AS/400, PC Server, or RS/6000 (with both V1R3 and V2R1) and S/390 or OS/2(with V1R3) using the IBM Network Station Manager software. Access any IBM server, Internet, or intranet applications concurrently via GUI. Java applications are accessible through the NC Navigator(V1R3), Netscape Communicator(V2R1) or through the JVM executing in the Network Station. The IBM Network Station Series 1000 accesses all data and applications -- plus configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting -- on the server. Your computing environment is easier, safer, and cheaper to set up and maintain. You gain the ability to do all the desktop-level computing you need to do.

You benefit from the cost-effective power of the network. The IBM Network Station Series 1000 sharpens the focus of IBM's family of network computers on the world of Java applications. It is your answer to cost-effective commercial computing today and tomorrow.
