InfoPrint 6700 offers enhancements for industrial environments on selected models

The InfoPrint 6700 Models R40, R60, and R80 are being enhanced with:

  • New Ethernet Wireless Adapter
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Support
  • Support for additional RFID tags

InfoPrint® Solutions Company, a Ricoh®-IBM joint venture, announces enhancements to the InfoPrint 6700 Models R40, R60, and R80 thermal label printers. These printers are designed for printing RFID (Model R40 only) and bar codes, labels, and tags in industrial environments where supply chain efficiency and reliable output is critical.

The InfoPrint 6700 printers offer ease of use, flexible media handling, and powerful remote management to keep information flowing.

Enhancements to Models R40, R60, and R80 include:

  • Improved Wireless Ethernet Adapter
  • Microsoft™ Windows™ Vista Support
  • Support for additional RFID tags

Typical industrial thermal printing applications include:

  • RFID Applications for Model R40
  • Bar codes for shipping and distribution of a wide range of products
  • Shipping/Receiving labels
  • Labeling for chemical and hazardous materials
  • Compliance labeling to meet industrial standards
  • Inventory control
  • Asset and tool room labeling

The InfoPrint 6700 is a family of compact, rugged industrial thermal printers with nominal print widths of four, six, or eight inches. The models offer print resolution of 203 or 300 dpi and maximum print speeds up to 10 ips.

The primary applications are for the production of RFID tags, bar codes, and graphics on labels and tags in an industrial environment.

The InfoPrint 6700 Model R40 is being enhanced with the following:

  • (#4280) Wireless Ethernet w/Radio (Initial order)
  • (#4544) Wireless Ethernet w/Radio (MES)

This feature provides an adapter card that is integrated into the printer. This adapter provides a wireless Ethernet 802.11b/g compatible interface. The appropriate wireless radio and antenna are included with this feature.

The radio card is a Symbol Technologies LA-5127.

It is not necessary for the customer to obtain a radio or antenna.

Compatibility conflicts: This feature uses one of the two PCI adapter slots.

Cannot be installed with Dual 10/100 Ethernet (#4287 or #4387) .

Customer setup: Yes, for initial order (#4280); No, for MES (#4544).

Minimum required: None

Field installation: Yes, Feature number 4544 is field installable.

Microsoft Windows Vista Support

Microsoft Windows Vista Support is now available for the InfoPrint 6700 Models R40, R60, and R80.

Security, auditability, and control

These products use the security and auditability features of the host hardware, software, and/or application software.

The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communications facilities.

The terms and conditions for this feature are the same as for the base InfoPrint 6700 (Machine type 5504). All warranty, service plans, hourly service rates, maintenance offerings and other terms and conditions are identical.
