New InfoPrint Color 1767 models offer twice the number of input drawers of current models

InfoPrint® Solutions Company, a Ricoh®-IBM joint venture, is expanding its workgroup printer product line with new models of the InfoPrint Color 1767. These new models feature twice the number of input drawers of current models. Each new model offers 2,180 sheets of input capacity.

New models offer the same benefits of current InfoPrint Color 1767 models including:

  • Monochrome printing: Up to 45 pages per minute (ppm)1 letter/A4 size
  • Color printing: Up to 40 ppm1 letter/A4 size
  • Duplex printing standard
  • Finisher and Booklet Finisher options available

The new hd1/hd2 models include four 520-sheet drawers and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder (MPF) for a total input capacity of 2,180 sheets standard. Duplex is standard. Two finisher options are available.

Memory

The controller has two slots for memory DIMMs. It also has two slots for flash cards and application solution cards. Each may be installed in either slot. There is one slot for interface cards and one slot for a hard disk adapter.

All models include a 512 MB memory DIMM installed and can support a maximum of 1024 MB of memory with another 512 MB DIMM installed.

Flash memory up to 64 MB is supported using the flash memory DIMMs. An optional 40 GB hard disk is available.

Usage rates

The maximum monthly usage for the InfoPrint Color 1767 is 200,000 impressions.

IPS does not recommend printing to the monthly maximum on a consistent basis.

Print quality

The resolution of the InfoPrint Color 1767 is:

Due to InfoPrint Color 1767 print technology, paper designed for use with xerographic copiers should provide satisfactory print quality and feed reliability. Other types of supplies may be suitable. It is recommended that users test any particular brand for suitability to their applications. Refer to the printer User's Guide for additional media specifications.

Planning information

Customer responsibilities

These features are designed as a Customer Setup Unit (CSU). The customer is responsible for:

  • Adequate site, system, and other vendor preparation
  • Receipt at the customer location and placement of the printer
  • Installation and configuration of the printer and features by following the installation instructions, including:
    • Installing and maintaining cables
    • Loading print media and clearing jams
    • Performing low-level problem determination
    • Ordering and installing supplies and consumables
  • Working with IPS Technical Support to complete low-level problem determination including:
    • Downloading and installing microcode updates as directed by the IPS Technical Support Center
    • Replacing defective features that were installed as part of the customer setup process

It is the customer's responsibility to order and maintain an adequate inventory of toner cartridges and maintenance supplies.

Cable orders: Attachment cables are not provided with the printer and must be provided or purchased by the customer. They are the responsibility of the customer and are not covered by product warranty or post-warranty services.

The parallel printer cable features are recommended when attaching the printer to a Parallel port.

The universal serial bus (USB) cable feature is recommended when attaching the printer to a USB port.

Supplies: The InfoPrint® Color 1767 is shipped with 13,000-impressions (1) black print cartridge and 12,000-impressions (1) CMY print cartridge. Replacement 38,000-impressions (1) black and 24,000-impressions (1) CMY print cartridges are available.

It is the customer's responsibility to order and maintain an adequate inventory of toner cartridges and maintenance supplies.

100K maintenance kit

All maintenance supplies (except the fuser and feed rollers contained within the 100,000-image maintenance kits for the InfoPrint 1767) must be professionally installed and cannot be installed by the customer. The fuser and feed rollers contained within the kit can be installed by the customer. Installation support for genuine IPS maintenance kits is provided in the U.S. at no charge. Outside the U.S., installation services are available at IPS's current billable service rate for this product, with a one-hour minimum. The maintenance kit must be purchased separately by the customer before contacting IPS for installation.

600K maintenance kit

All maintenance supplies (except the transfer unit belt assembly contained within the 600,000-image maintenance kits for the InfoPrint 1767) must be professionally installed and cannot be installed by the customer. The transfer unit belt assembly contained within the kit can be installed by the customer. Installation support for genuine IPS maintenance kits is provided in the U.S. at no charge. Outside the U.S., installation services are available at IPS's current billable service rate for this product, with a one-hour minimum. The maintenance kit must be purchased separately by the customer before contacting IPS for installation.

Supply warranties are only for defects in materials and workmanship at the time of shipment and installation. They are not for print count life or normal wear and tear, nor for any print count minimum. Contact your place of purchase for warranty return instructions.

IPS is committed to environmentally conscious programs for printer supplies. A collection program for used printer cartridges has been established and return instructions are included in the supply item packaging, with free return shipping.

Security, auditability, and control

This product uses the security and auditability features of the host hardware, host software, and application software.

The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communications facilities.

Warranty service

If required, IPS provides repair or exchange service depending on the types of warranty service specified for the machine. IPS will attempt to resolve your problem over the telephone, or electronically via an IPS Web site. You must follow the problem determination and resolution procedures that IPS specifies. Scheduling of service will depend upon the time of your call and is subject to parts availability. If applicable to your product, parts considered Customer Replaceable Units (CRUs) will be provided as part of the machine's standard warranty service.

Service levels are response time objectives and are not guaranteed. The specified level of warranty service may not be available in all worldwide locations. Additional charges may apply outside IPS's normal service area. Contact your local IPS representative or your reseller for country- and location-specific information. This product is covered by the following types of service.

CRU Service and On-site for other selected parts.

CRU Service: IPS provides replacement CRUs to you for you to install. CRU information and replacement instructions are shipped with your machine and are available from IPS upon your request. CRUs are designated as being either a Tier 1 or a Tier 2 CRU.

Tier 1 CRU: Installation of Tier 1 CRUs is your responsibility. If IPS installs a Tier 1 CRU at your request, you will be charged for the installation.

Tier 2 CRU: You may install a Tier 2 CRU yourself or request IPS to install it, at no additional charge.

Based upon availability, CRUs will be shipped for next-business-day delivery. IPS specifies, in the materials shipped with a replacement CRU, whether a defective CRU must be returned to IPS. When return is required, (1) return instructions and a container are shipped with the replacement CRU and (2) you may be charged for the replacement CRU if IPS does not receive the defective CRU within 15 days of your receipt of the replacement.
