Overview

IBM is announcing two new products to the cut-sheet product line. The Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES multifunction production devices are full-function, medium-speed printer and duplication systems that effectively combine a true datacenter-centric controller with copier capabilities. Available in two versions, the Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES are cost-efficient, easy-to-use, print-on-demand solutions that can help you gain a competitive edge and win in the marketplace.

The Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES are cut-sheet multifunction production devices with print speeds up to 60 and 75 impressions per minute (ipm)1, with excellent print quality at 1200 DPI, 600 dpi IPDS and selectable 600 or 1200 dpi for PCL, PostScript, and PDF. With these output speeds, one can create a more productive environment and substantially reduce time waiting at the printer.

The printers can be configured with either IPDS or PCL/PostScript or both at initial order (at least one data stream must be ordered). The printer can be configured with a finisher: either the 50 staple finisher, 100 staple finisher, or booklet finisher. If a finisher is not desired, then the 500-Sheet Output Bin feature must be ordered.

The Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES come standard with a 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet attachment for printing and a 10/100BaseT Ethernet attachment for scanning. An optional token ring attachment (not scanning) and wireless adapter for printing is also available.

Print quality:Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES offer high-quality print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. Both printers support up to 256 levels of gray for IOCA images.

There are three print modes; Refine, Normal, and Econo. Refine mode is the default and offers the best overall print quality. Normal mode is slightly darker than Refine mode and Econo mode is slightly lighter with reduced toner usage.

For AFP/IPDS, input resolution can be 240 dpi, 300 dpi or auto. Output is generated at 600 dpi and printed at 1200 dpi.

Print area:Both printers support a printable area of within 4 mm of the edge on all sides for IPDS and PCL/PostScript data streams. Edge-to-edge mode allows printing to within 2 mm leading edge and 0 mm on all other edges of the media. Edge-to-edge mode on 12 in x 18 in media cannot print within 2 mm of the edge.

Maximum monthly usage:The maximum monthly usage for the Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES is 300,000 impressions. IBM does not recommend printing to this monthly maximum on a consistent basis.

Installation services:This feature (#4900) provides installation of the printer and features.

Copying capability:Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES printers come standard with a digital copier. The copier is extremely powerful, but still easy to use. All copier functions are accessed through the large,user-friendly, touch panel. Originals are scanned in and a digital representation of the original is created that can be printed on these printers.

Simplex and duplex originals can be copied by either placing them on the scanner glass or utilizing the ARDF (Auto Reverse Document feeder). The ARDF is a fast and versatile scan feeder, capable of handling up to 100 sheets at a time (80 gsm, 20 lb). The ARDF can scan pages up to 60 ppm (8.5 in x 11 in or A4). The ARDF can handle a wide variety of paper sizes from 5.5 in x 8.5 in (140 mm x 216 mm) to 11 in x 17 in (279 mm x 432 mm). Up to 12 in x 18 in originals can be scanned on the glass.

The ARDF can scan mixed paper sizes and weights in the same stack. The ARDF is also capable of automatic paper size selection and automatic paper reduction/enlargement on a sheet-by-sheet basis. It scans originals at 8 bit gray scale and 600 dpi.

The copier also includes an integrated document server and editor. The document server stores up to 250 jobs or up to 5,000 pages. The document server allows the user to scan originals and save the documents onto the built-in hard drive, and print saved documents. All of the available finishing options are available when printing a stored document. Documents can be protected with user IDs and passwords. The document server also allows the user to print a sample copy, insuring that the full print job will be output correctly.

Overall, the Infoprint 2060ES and 2075ES copier functions are full-featured and easy to use. The combination of a high-speed digital scanner, a top-notch printer, and exceptional function creates an extremely effective tool for any business.
