ODV-1 Barcode Data Validator

Online Data Validator (ODV) is an option exclusive to our T6000 and T8000 printers. This unique barcode validation option scans every barcode as it is printed. If a barcode fails, the label is automatically crossed out and a replacement label is printed. The ODV option is available as a kit and can be field installed by an authorized service representative. ODV-2D is for validating 2D barcodes and is not available as a kit for the T6000. The T6000 strikes through approximately 1” of the rejected label. To strike though the entire label we recommend buying the ODV-2D. 

PrintNet Enterprise

PrintNet Enterprise (PNE) is a remote printer management utility that allows you to easily organize your Printronix printers into a single dashboard from which you can monitor and control your printers from any networked PC. PNE allows you to remotely download configurations, firmware updates and create reports for an entire fleet of printers. PNE is compatible with all Printronix Auto ID printers and is available at no charge. 


The T6000 printer comes standard with Serial RS232, USB and Ethernet 10/100 Base T. It can also be ordered with the following communication Interfaces: – WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n) is compatible with PrintNet Enterprise. It can be can be factory installed or installed in the field by an authorized service representative. – GPIO Module (General Purpose Input Output) is both hardware and software. The hardware is the actual IO board to be mounted in the printer, and the software is the GPIO Manager which is part of the Printronix PrintNet Enterprise remote management software. The GPIO hardware is a printed circuit board containing optically isolated inputs, outputs and relays. The GPIO software is both a printer resident GPIO event parser and a PC-based GPIO manager that allows the user to define how the general purpose IO hardware should behave for the given application. – Parallel Port can be used for connecting external devices such as printers or scanners.

Cutter & Cutter Tray

Cutter & Cutter Tray can be ordered with a 4” or 6” cutter mechanism factory installed or the option can be installed by an authorized service representative at a later date. Once installed, the printer can be configured to automatically cut media after each or a specified number of labels is printed.

Peeler & Rewinder

Peeler/Rewinder is for applications that require on the spot labeling or batch production, the internal rewinder supports Peel-Off and Batch Rewind media handling modes. The printer can be ordered with a 4“or 6” peeler/rewinder or it can be field installed at a later date by an authorized service representative.

QCMC (Quick Change Memory Card) is an additional way to make your printer installation a snap. Can I swap the printhead directly?

The printheads are interchangeable for all the available resolutions listed below. The printer can automatically detect the printhead change.

I am currently using a printer from one of your competitors. Can the T6000e replace my printer and plug-and-play without additional effort and cost?

The T6000e supports emulations for most major competitor printers; Zebra, Datamax, Sato, Toshiba TEC, Intermec, Avery Denison (Monarch), Eltron, and IER. These emulations have been used on multiple Printronix products and proven to be very robust. No additional software needs to be purchased or loaded. The T6000e comes with these emulations already installed.

Does Printronix offer supplies for the T6000e?

How long will the printhead last?

For Thermal Transfer applications: printheads are warranted 180 days from shipment or 2 million linear inches (whichever comes first).

What is the warranty on the T6000e printer?

The T6000e comes standard with a 1-Year Return to Depot warranty. Extended warranty packages are available. Please contact your Printronix Auto ID Territory Account Manager for more information.

What RFID labels are supported on the T6000e?

The T6000e supports a wide range of standard UHF EPCglobal Gen2 RFID labels and On-Metal RFID tags. Printronix posts a list of validated labels and tags on the RFID Support page of website. This list is constantly undated as new RFID inlays and tags become available on the market and are validated on Printronix printers in the RFID Label and Tag test lab.

Does the T6000e support HF RFID labels?

The T6000e only supports UHF EPCglobal Gen2 (ISO18000-63) RFID labels and tags.

What are on-metal tags?

On-metal tags (sometimes called metal-mount or anti-metal tags) are RFID tags that are designed to operate on devices made of metal. The physical properties of metal serve to reflect RF signals and so a standard RFID label would be completely undetectable by an RFID reader.

On-metal tags are typically constructed with a thin foam insulator to provide a space between the metal surface and the RFID inlay. On-metal tags are available in several constructions and the ones used with printers are typically up to 1mm thick due to the foam insulator. They also should include a “bridge” between the individual tags to ensure smooth transport through the print station.

What types of on-metal tags are supported on the T6000e?

Unlike most thermal printers on the market today, the T6000e was designed from the ground up to support a variety of on-metal tags up to 1.2mm thick. Printronix posts a list of validated on-metal tags on the RFID Support page of website. This is constantly undated as new tags become available on the market and are validated on our printers in our RFID Label and Tag test lab.

How easy is it to setup the printer for different RFID labels?

The T6000e RFID printer has an RFID label calibration feature in the RFID menu which makes it very easy to setup the printer for both standard RFID and on-metal RFID labels. The calibration process feeds 3-4 labels to determine the optimal encoding position and RF power levels. I am currently using an RFID printer from one of your competitors. Can the T6000e RFID replace my printer and plug-and-play without additional effort and cost?

Apart from the Printronix PGL RFID command set, the T6000e RFID printer also supports RFID printer commands for Zebra, Sato, and Avery Denison (Monarch). What are the key differences between the T6000 and the T6000e?

The T6000e offers 600 dpi printing on the 4” printer, and UHF RFID with both and internal and external antenna supporting standard and on-metal RFID labels and tags. The T6000e 6” printer offers UHF RFID with an external antenna. Both models now support USB host.

Is the T6000e compatible with the T6000?

T6000e is 100% form, fit, function compatible with the T6000, including at the application level, assuring easy migration.

Are the Printer Part Numbers the same?

The SPNs (Smart Part Numbers) have an added “E”. For example:

T6000: T62X4-1100-00 T6000e: T6E2X4-1100-00

The option number structures are the same.

Is the T6000 and T6000e software the same?

While the T6000e uses the same code base, the builds are different and are not backwards/forward compatible.

If someone tries to load the wrong code into either T6000 or T6000e the error will be detected, and process aborted.

Can I upgrade a standard (non-RFID) T6000e to RFID?

It is possible to upgrade the T6000e 4in standard printer but with the internal antenna only and with limited backup and overstrike.
