Abstract

The Xerox D50 is a workgroup document scanner rated for 11,000 pages a day, feeding from a 120-sheet automatic document feeder at up to 70 pages per minute / 140 images per minute duplex at both 200 and 300 dpi (50 ppm / 100 ipm for 300 dpi color). A dual-motor reversing roller paper path with ultrasonic double-feed detection carries mixed batches — plain paper, photos, plastic and embossed ID cards — without stopping the run. It attaches over USB 3.1 Gen 1 and supports both PC and Mac. Visioneer VAST Network technology, an extended implementation of TWAIN Direct, lets applications reach the scanner over a secure web interface without a driver install on every client.

High-Volume Throughput

A 120-sheet feeder and an 11,000-page daily duty cycle put the D50 in departmental territory rather than personal-scanner territory. The wide paper path takes originals up to 9.5 in across, and speed holds at 70 ppm / 140 ipm through both 200 and 300 dpi for black and white and grayscale.

Reliable Paper Handling

Dual motors driving a reversing roller separation system deliver consistent page pickup across mixed stock from 7 to 110 lb. Integrated ultrasonic double-feed detection catches stapled or stuck pages before they cost you a rescan. Long documents up to 240 in feed through the same path.

Software and Network Access

The Visioneer Intelligent Software Platform is included: Visioneer OneTouch for one-click destinations, Visioneer Capture SE for batch capture and data extraction, Visioneer Organizer AI for automatic classification, and a full version of ABBYY FineReader PDF for OCR and PDF editing. Visioneer Mobile Capture covers iOS and Android.
